Ian Thuillier is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker from Dublin, Ireland.
He has made documentaries such as ‘Ladies and Gentlemen, Gavin Friday’ (2010) and ‘Ghost Blues’ The Rory Gallagher Story (2010) with contributions from musicians like Edge, Bono, Johnny Marr, Slash, and Bob Geldof.
His debut documentary ‘Darkroom’ won Best Documentary at the Boston Irish Film Festival and he was nominated for an IFTA award for Best New Talent.
He also directed a short film called ‘DRIVEN’ which received recognition at the Cork Independent Film Festival and the International Berlin Film Festival.
He is currently in post-production with his latest feature documentary about the life and work of Irish abstract contemporary artist and sculptor, Guggi.
In 2015, Thuillier was selected as one of the top ten photographers in the Sony World Photography Awards. He has exhibited his work in a highly acclaimed photographic exhibition called ‘VIETNAM 40’, which celebrated Vietnam’s landscapes and people 40 years after the Vietnam War. He has also captured images of Vietnamese street life for his book ‘Vietnam LIFE’.
Thuillier has recently worked on a book called ‘The Art of Speed’ which features photographs from the Formula 1 World Championships.
